Executive Board of 9 Women | Internal Team of 35+ committee members | Community of 600+ Vanderbilt students

Our Structure…

There are two types of membership: Internal & External.

Internal members have successfully applied to the organization and received an offer to join one of our 6 committees. Internal members are expected to attend GBMs (General Body Meetings), committee meetings, and execute tailored responsibilities and tasks.

External members are not a part of a committee, however, are more than welcome to apply to our programs (Mentorship and Externship) and attend our Community Engagement events (Nashville MakHERs Market, Speaker Series, etc.)

Committees

Team Management:

  • Fosters inclusion and connection among the 35-person internal WiB team by organizing social and community events

  • Organizes internal mentorship structure 

  • Manages internal communication about events and opportunities

  • Maintains partnerships with Owen Graduate School and WiB alumni network

  • Runs internal WiB recruitment and midterm / end-of-year reviews

Marketing:

  • Plans and executes all marketing campaigns for WIB events 

  • Manages WiB’s Instagram, Facebook, and informational website

  • Responsible for communicating with other organizations to advertise events and creating marketing materials to display around campus

Mentorship:

  • Plans all aspects of WiB’s Mentorship Program, a program that matches ~20 undergraduate students with successful businesswomen across the country 

  • Creates & leads workshops to enhance mentee experience

  • Maintains frequent communication with mentors and mentees about expectations and events 

  • Plans kickoff Networking Brunch for mentors/mentees

Community Engagement:

  • Plans WIB’s Speaker Series, a biannual event that provides the Vanderbilt community with an opportunity to learn from female business leaders 

  • Organizes Nashville MakHERs Market, an on-campus philanthropic outdoor market spotlighting Nashville’s women-owned small businesses

  • Hosts Fireside Chats, informal Q&As with Vanderbilt women students paving the path for entrepreneurship and business 

  • Engages Team WiB in community service 

  • Partners with other clubs and organizations (including the Women’s Center and S.T.R.A.N.D.S.) on various events to foster campus connections

Career Services:

  • Communicates and collaborates with top company recruiters and the Vanderbilt Career Center

  • Organizes private networking events for internal and external WiB team 

  • Offers events to practice and improve upon interview skills

  • Advertises key internship and full-time recruitment timelines

  • Offers professional and academic guidance

Externship:

  • Plans all aspects of WiB’s Externship Program, an unpaid, virtual part-time internship program that accepts 25-30 students each semester 

  • Recruits new companies each term to grow and expand the program
